AFCAT Exam Syllabus 2018 Recruitment Details-

The IAF Selection Board has issued AFCAT January 2019 Course Indian Air Force Recruitment Notification for granting of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branches and Permanent Commission in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-technical) Branches. There are also invited applications for the grant in PC and SSC through National Cadet Corps (NCC) special entry & Meteorology Entry. The last date to apply was 14th January 2018.

Salary Details


The candidates, who will be selected for Flying Officers post, will get Rs. 56100 – Rs. 110700 plus MSP Rs. 15500 per month as a salary.

AFCAT Training

  1. The training for selected candidates on the Flying Officers post will start in the first week of January 2019 for all courses at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad).
  2. The selected contenders on the posts of Flying Officers and Ground Duty (Technical) will have to undergo 74 weeks basic training.
  3. Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches basic training is 52 weeks.
  4. Candidates PAN Card, Aadhaar card and SBI account is necessary at the time of joining.

Physical Standard

  • Running 1 Mile (1.6 Kilometer) – in 10 minutes.
  • Pushups (Uthak-Baithak) – 10.
  • Chin Ups- 03.

AFCAT Exam Pattern for 01/2018 Batch-

  1. The applied applicants will be called for AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) and EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) for technical branches.
  2. An online objective type examination will be conducted on 25/02/2018 at the various centers in India and all information’s in detail will be mentioned on the contenders AFCAT Exam Admit Card.
  3. Each and every question will be of 03 marks in the test.
  4. 01 mark will be deducted if candidates give the wrong answer in the test as a negative marking.
  5. The following subjects will be included in the AFCAT and EKT Tests-

  • Total- 100 Questions.
  • Total- 300 Marks.
  • Time to solve this paper is- 120 minutes.

EKT (For Ground Duty Technical Branch)-

  • Total- 50 Questions.
  • Total- 150 Marks.
  • Time to solve this paper- 45 minutes.
  • The numerical questions will be based on 10th standard level.
  • Other all questions will be based on Graduation Level.
